We now offer walk-in services to provide timely access to primary care without the need for an appointment. Whether you’re dealing with a minor illness, injury, or other non-emergency health concern, our clinical team is here to help. Walk-in visits are available during regular clinic hours, making it easier for you to receive the care you need when your schedule doesn’t allow for advance booking. At Orleans Premier Care, we’re committed to accessible, patient-centred healthcare – now with the flexibility of walk-in availability.
OHIP will soon cover medically necessary care provided by nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and midwives, just as it does for care provided by physicians. This change comes from a new interpretation of the Canada Health Act, designed to make sure no one pays out of pocket for essential health services delivered by qualified non-physician professionals.
This update ensures that services already considered medically necessary and covered when delivered by physicians will also be covered when provided by nurse practitioners, pharmacists, or midwives. Federal health funding may be reduced if extra charges to patients continue for these services.
The Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Ontario views this as a significant advancement in access to care.
